Commercial Focus Advisory Services has been retained to provide strategic planning services for various land owners adjacent to the Georgetown GO station. The proposed redevelopment is within the Georgetown Go Station Land Use Study being prepared by the Town of Halton Hills. The vision is for the area to provide opportunities for redevelopment and intensification while ensuring the character of the existing well established residential area adjacent. The following graphic (Map 3) illustrates the constraints and opportunities surrounding the subject site. The following concepts outline the preferred Alternative plans prepared by the municipality (fig. 1 and fig . 4)

Download our planning justification report which examines the rationale of the redevelopment concept proposed for the site, and proposes Transit Oriented Redevelopment of the subject site. The municipality has been provided with a power point presentation on the key criteria for Transit Oriented Redevelopment. New Barrie Arena

A Toronto developer is hoping to build a new recreation centre in Barrie, but some hurdles need to be cleared at City Hall. The plan is to build a 77,000 square foot facility at the southwest corner of Tiffin Street and Ferndale Drive. However, the area is zoned industrial and a change in designation would need to be made to allow the centre to proceed. The group will be putting a proposal to the city's Committee of Adjustment in the coming weeks.

Stephen L. Fagyas, President of CFAS is pleased to announce the formation of the "Real Estate Workout Group" of CFAS. The new group is to be headed by Maxwell T. McCone, B. Comm. C.A. (NZ). Mr. McCone began his career at Cadillac Fairview in the 1980's with their Land and Housing Group. He owned and operated a manufacturing and distribution business for many years which he sold in 2002.
